following up the fantastic summer re-release of upsetting keys “empathy” ep, path records follows with its first new catalogue number since 2006. path 008 marks the return of artist fate 258, whose 1999 “why 2k” path 001 ep has been a hotly sought after item on discogs. the three-track ep contains two exciting new mixes of cult classic techno track “the path”. the a-side version “path to hell” is the harder of the pair, a dark edgy journey into the unknown with shuffling 808 rhythms providing much of the melody. “path to heaven” slows the groove down and adds warm juno pads throughout the mix for a very deep detroit flavored techno style. on the final track “heaven or hell” sort of a broken beat downtempo piece, sparse vocals and bladerunner samples mix to complete the dystopian concept. these mixes of “the path” are considered pre-mixes, as they were completed in 1998 before the original release of path 001. fate 258 is a project from brooklyn producer reade truth, known for his work over the last decades on labels such as planet e, sonic groove, n-syde, wurst and strictly rhythm to name a few. limited to 250 worldwide, with the first 100 including full black and white cover art.

gari romalis keeps on surprising us all, with his amazing ability to produce solid chicago laced beats, full of groove and brimming with soul. so far his music has been released on some highly respected underground imprints, such as rawax, rue de plaisance and bosconi records amongst a long list of others we couldn t be happier to have gari joining us on our vinyl catalogue, plus, along side him for remix duties, esteban adame, half of the renowned los hermanos. esteban is a key member on the ur crew and has been also releasing incredible music on labels such as underground quality, or his own ican productions, which he runs in collaboration with santiago salazar.

after dropping his “can’t remember / talking to you” ep, his debut solo release for dfa, last summer, austrian musician and producer wolfram eckert returns with a stellar four-tracker for kim ann foxman s firehouse imprint. his new offering, a track called “united 707”, finds wolfram in fine form, delivering an infectious jam that makes us want to jump in his ’80s vw scirocco for a late-night ride around new york. the release comes backed with remixes by simoncino and legowelt! pressed on 180-gram heavyweight vinyl, housed in a full colour sleeve, limited to 500 copies worldwide.

in early 2015, italian electronic producer fabrizio mammarella aka telespazio released an excellent debut full length on hell yeah, and now the label offers up four tracks from it remixed by modern greats kito jempere, wolf muller, harvey sutherland and tempelhof. in original form the album was a truly unique and idiosyncratic journey into a freaky sound world. now it has new moods and groves layer into it and becomes just as exciting a proposition as a result.
